It's exactly what you think it is: a value-priced box with 2 (count them--TWO) Nancy Drew Games. As far as adventure games go, I can play and enjoy very few of them. My wife, however, has played through most of them. She really likes this series, and these two titles make THE perfect addition to her game library. As far as what the games are about, you gan get comprehensive game reviews at other sites. It's and adventure game, so low PC minimu requirements to enjoy. You can take as long as you want to play through it. The hand-eye coordination and fast reflexes of console gaming are not vital for these kind of games. Lots of clever puzzles, cheesy voicework, groovy mysteries that only Nancy (Drew, not Grace) can tackle! If you like adventure games, you can;t go wrong with this bundle. They're well priced anywhere you look, and lots of playtime/dollar value. Low replay value, as linear story-based adventure games go.Read full review
The Nancy Drew mystery games are excellent. If you're looking for a game that actually gets you (or your daughter) thinking, these are the ones. There's no mindless clicking here, just character interactions, clues, games, and puzzles. Few of them are timed situations, and even a wrong choice gets a second chance. I do think that the age suggestion of 10 & up is correct. These are fun games to play alone, but also great to play with friends or family. This pack includes numbers 8 & 9 for those of you keeping track. Haunted Carousel was a little bit easier to solve than Deception Island. My family's current vote for top Nancy Drew is #11 Curse of Blackmoor Manor due to overall excitement, difficulty and fun. HerInteractive estimates 20 hours of play to solve each mystery, but once you've played a few and get the hang of it, I'd say it drops down to around 15 hours. Of course, the website offers tips from other users in case you're in a hurry and/or need to cheat.Read full review
I am writing on one of the two games here only - The Haunted Carousel, because I have not played the other one yet. This was my first Nancy Drew game and I must say that this game exceeded my expectations immensely!! I thought that it may be too juvenile for me, considering I'm 35 years old and an electrical engineer, but don't laugh - I found this game challenging!! I was very surprised at some of the steps involved in this game - like repairing a circuit board with a resistor and knowing how resistance works, in series and parallel. And the short hand part - where you have to actually read and take lessons, in order to decipher a short hand letter. Very cool - I never took short hand in college or high school, so this was something new to me. I just found that the entire game was fun, interesting, and challenging. I believe that these Nancy Drew games could be played by teens and adults both. Loved it!! Highly recommend it... for kids AND adults!! Thanx for reading.Read full review
After playing Inspector Parker online for free, I decided I'd like to own the full version and didn't want to pay $19.99 to acquire the license for it. My local Wal-mart didn't have the game so I bought it (along with "Betrapped" and "Huntsville") from ebay. The game is pretty cool to play and my kids can play it, too. It's not brain surgery but it's a good way to kill some time.
Perfect, as described and it arrived in a timely manner too!
